Terms Used
- New Wood - stem or branch of the current year's growth
- Old Wood - stem or branch of a previous year's growth
- Eye - lateral or auxillary bud to be found in the axil of a leaf
- Vegetative Bud - bud from which a stem will develop
- Flower Bud - bud from which a flower will develop
- Leaders - shoots by which the main stems of roses extend themselves
- Laterals - stems that grow from a leader
- Snag - dead stump resulting from a pruning cut being made too far above a bud or too far from the junction of one limb with another
