Rose Pruning
Those of you that are new to rose growing need not approach the subject with any trepidation as the pruning of roses is based on good common sense.
Even a badly pruned bush is unlikely to be ruined.

Why are rose bushes pruned?
To keep them vigorous and help maintain their shape and to continually grow better flowers.
How do you achieve this?
By removing old, damaged, diseased or dead wood as well as any small, weak branches. Branches that crowd the centre of the bush also need to be removed.
When do you need to prune?
It all depends on the climate that you live in with temperate climates having mid-June to end July as the best time to prune although should there be any likelihood of late frosts it is best to wait until early or even late August.
